Vic Hayes is commonly called the “Father of Wi-Fi” because he was the one who chaired the IEEE committee that created 802.11 standards in 1997. Third of all, there are a lot of patents that have to do with Wi-Fi technology. Secondly, one would have to look all the electronic equipment that is involved in receiving and sending Wi-Fi signal. First, one would have to scrutinize the 802.11 radio frequency used for the broadcast of the Wi-Fi signal. The question who invented the Wi-Fi is something that is asked frequently, but naming a single inventor is difficult.

The IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) sets the communication standards and the Wi-Fi alliance. This signal is regulated just like any other radio station would be. A few people know this, but Wi-Fi is actually a very high frequency radio signal, which is why it can travel through the air and allows computers, gaming consoles, iPads, cell phones and the whole family of devices to connect wirelessly. Wi-Fi is an abbreviation for Wireless Fidelity. Not a lot of people have something nice to say about telecommunication providers, but when it comes to wireless networking, the success can really be seen.
